The project

A clear place for the idea to take shape.

From Islam to Christ is being built as a quiet place to read Scripture, explore foundational Christian questions, and move through a guided journey without requiring an account or sending reading activity to a server. The desktop app uses Electron, React, and Vite; the Android app wraps the same responsive renderer with Capacitor so the core reading and study experience remains recognizable on a phone.

This page records the project’s current direction and confirmed scope. Availability is stated plainly: a project page is a fuller introduction, not a claim that an unreleased build is ready to download.

Official Android release

A more comfortable first step.

From Islam to Christ v0.2.1 is available as a Windows x64 installer and an Android debug APK through GitHub Releases. This patch corrects the Android phone layout so constrained controls wrap cleanly without unintended horizontal page panning. The local PIN gate and offline-first study surfaces remain in place; licensing review, production Android signing, and broader device testing remain release gates.

What it is becoming

Built around a specific purpose.

01

Offline SQLite content database generated from the local Data source

The raw research folder is not shown as a file browser or copied wholesale into the public repository. A repeatable conversion pipeline normalizes its reviewed runtime boundary into the bundled database.

02

Full 66-book KJV book and chapter navigation

The current prototype database contains the 66-book index and 31,102 KJV verse rows, with chapter queries loaded locally as the reader moves through the text.

03

Local bookmarks, highlights, private notes, and reader preferences

Bookmarks, highlights, notes, font sizing, and Paper, Sepia, or Low-light reading tones are stored on the device in the current prototype.

04

Learn search with questions, foundations, Jesus, Bible, practice, and life topics

Learn remains deliberately local and searchable, with the article set and topic filters visible without introducing an account, feed, or analytics layer.

05

Seven-step Start Here journey with locally persisted progress

The Journey screen records progress locally and keeps future lesson depth distinct from the current implementation milestone.

06

Light mode, dark mode, discreet mode, optional local PIN lock, private-data reset, responsive phone layout, branded splash, and GitHub-linked updates

The supplied icon, logo, banner, desktop splash, and Android splash are used as the application identity across the two targets.
